Protecting The Health Of The Nation Since 1890
Training is the making of a skilled craftsman. Trained plumbers save money for their clients because jobs are completed professionally and on time, without the headaches of complications. Local 16 plumbers learn the craft in a nationally recognized apprenticeship program, ranked among the best in the nation by The Department of Labor.

Apprentices receive on-the-job training during the day and attend comprehensive classes at night. For five years these apprentices learn the newest techniques, and the value of swift, careful craftsmanship, as well as proper methods of combining plumbing and architecture.
A total of 1,200 hours of classroom study, as well as up to 10,000 hours of on-the-job, must be completed before graduation. Surpassing Omaha's licensing requirements by one year, members of Local 16 are the best trained plumbers in the area.
More training means better service for both customers and contractors. Extensive training means fewer mistakes, quicker service, better repairs and the ability to meet tighter deadlines.
Plumbers Local Union No. 16 JATC will not discriminate against apprenticeship applicants or apprentices based on RACE, COLOR, RELIGION, NATIONAL ORIGIN, SEX (INCLUDING PREGNANCY AND GENDER IDENTITY), SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENETIC INFORMATION, OR BECAUSE THEY ARE AN INDIVIDUAL WITH A DISABILITY OR A PERSON 40 YEARS OLD OR OLDER.
