In a fast-evolving world, the need for skilled professionals in the trades is more vital than ever. Recognizing this, Plumbers Local 16 is thrilled to partner with Omaha Public Schools (OPS) in their Trades Camp Series, a groundbreaking initiative designed to introduce students to rewarding career opportunities in the trades industry. This partnership is more than just about filling job vacancies; it’s about shaping futures and strengthening our community. Through hands-on workshops, OPS students can explore a wide variety of trades, with Local 16’s skilled plumbers guiding them every step of the way. Our experts bring real-world experience and passion to the program, mentoring students in the tools, techniques, and skills needed for success in the industry. Each year, Local 16’s commitment to training future tradespeople has grown, with our union supporting OPS students through practical sessions, industry insights, and advice on navigating the path toward apprenticeships and beyond. By offering our members as mentors, students gain firsthand knowledge and build invaluable connections within the trades community.
